Paman gober is short for penanaman dan gowes bersama (planting and cycling together). The event is the last event of Dewa Athena (Sports fair). The goal for the event is to have fun and exercise with friends, we also plant trees to reduce air pollution.
On Saturday 8th April 2017, we came to the lapang bali (bali field) near our school. The participants brought their own bike or borrowed it first in the school yard. If we wanted to borrow, we just need to get it back after the event. The event began at 7 o'clock in the morning, there were a speech and opening from the principal. After that the event begin and everyone went to the planting spot. It took approximately one hour to get there.
We arrived at Cisokan, a housing complex for the planting spot. Everyone parked their bike and sat in the field. The location was empty and they already prepared the location. After that we was greeted by the local and we had a ceremonial plant giving by our principal. From all the participants, they wanted each class to present two representatives for the planting. They already prepared the shovel and the plants, so the representatives only helped putting the plants into the prepared soil. The rest of us just sat there waiting for them to finished.
After the planting event was done, everyone came back to sat and got ready to continue. The next destination for the event was to go back to bali field or SMAN 3 Bandung. So after everyone was ready, we left from Cisokan to bali field. The route was slightly longer but it didn't matter. There were no serious issues on the road except for some bike broke. After we arrived that conclude the event of PAMAN GOBER. But at noon, there would be the Dewa Athena finals. So the event was fun and very helpful for our environtment.
